My uncle has been interested in opening a commercial hauling service but does not know how he will be able to afford more than one commercial truck. Maybe it would be best for him to ask a professional how he can finance the semi-trucks that he needs for his business.

Establishing relationships with reputable freight brokers is essential. Most freight brokers would rather give their loads to a trusted carrier than post them up on the load boards. So when you find one that has good freight and is good to work with, then work to stay in contact with them. Most of them have individual email lists that they send out to their favorite carriers. Ask to be on their list and update them with your truck location often so they will know where and when your trucks are available.

Looking for tips on how to start relationships with companies in need of transportation. I am a new Owner and I will not be driving. Also, are load boards the only way to get loads? How do I connect with a reputable brokerage firm that will not give me loads that no one else wants?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Kindly,
